Unlike a traditional earl grey tea, we have infused the flavours of earl grey with rooibos to create a decadent caffeine free blend. Our earl grey rooibos tea has a bold flavour, brimming with citrusy bergamot flavour. It can be enjoyed with milk, on its own or perhaps with a slice of lemon. Our delightful loose leaf blend also looks as gorgeous as it tastes, decorated with delicate blue cornflowers.
Many people believe that earl grey tea is quintessentially British. However, it was in fact blended originally by a Chinese tea master for Mr Charles Grey. Charles was the second Earl of Grey and also he was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834. The Earl of Grey’s wife adored the tea so much that she insisted on only serving this tea when hosting occasions. Therefore it became popular within London society, causing it to be recreated in the UK, from which it has remained a clear favourite for tea drinkers.
1 heaped teaspoon per cup, boil the kettle, brew for 5 mins and serve with or without milk.
